The Palestinian cause between diplomacy and conflict
The relationship between the two separate Palestinian entities, bordering Israel but not each other, has made no real progress over the last 13 years, ever since the Islamist Hamas organization took over Gaza by force of arms and in return was left out of power in the Palestinian Authority ruling the West Bank. Palestinian Authority President Mahmud Abbas and Hamas leader Yahia Sinwar hold different views of Israel, with Abbas believing in negotiations and Sinwar in armed-resistance, yet neither seems to advance their declared “cause” by decisive action.
