Who will eventually control it? Will Syria become a sovereign nation in fact and not only in title, as it was when Assad’s rule rested on Russian and Iranian support? Will Turkey call the shots? Can peaceful pronouncements vis-a-vis Israel co-exist with Jihadi ideology?
