Israel vs Iran’s Faltering Axis of Resistance
During the past decade, as the Islamic Republic of Iran has been preparing to do battle with Israel, or at least to deter it from a strike on its nuclear infrastructure, a network of proxies was being built from the Persian Gulf to the Eastern Mediterranean to the Red Sea.
The idea was to prepare this so-called 'ring of fire' for a judgement day of Tehran’s choosing. However, on October 7 2023, Hamas went ahead and jumped the gun, and since then this axis of resistance has had a hard time fending off Israel, the US and their partners.
