Israel at war. Israel & the Arab world, a geo-strategic conundrum
Just a few days before Hamas launched its surprise attack on Israel, the Jewish State and the leading Muslim nation of Saudi Arabia seemed on the verge of normalizing their relations. This would have been the culmination of a process which saw, three years ago, Gulf and North African governments unveiling the official secrecy of their ties with Israel, in what became known as the Abraham Accords. But with the October 7th massacre, the Israeli counter-offensive and the visible plight of Palestinian civilians, regimes friendly towards Israel panicked into a U-Turn, condemning it and cooling off the relationship. Will there be a revival of the Abraham Accords, and even an expansion towards Riyadh, once the war is over?
To pass judgment on the prospects of perils, we are joined From Central Israel Col. (Ret.) Dr. Eran Lerman, Co-host TV7 Middle East Review, Powers-in-Play Panelist, JISS VP and Editor in Chief of the Jerusalem Strategic Tribune.
From elsewhere in Jerusalem Mr. Eran Etzion Former Deputy Head, NSC (National Security Council), and Mr. Amir Oren – TV7 Editors at Large.
