Iran’s nuclear program: Final diplomatic stretch in Vienna?
The bargaining between the United States and Iran, whether formally and indirectly in Vienna or elsewhere and through other channels, is evidently approaching its endgame. The indicators include a waiver on sanctions related to nuclear work in Iranian facilities, reversing a Trump era policy and serving as a good will gesture on the part of the Biden administration. U.S. President Joe Biden himself talked with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, in what was obviously a preface to an announcement on a Vienna deal. Following this conversation, in which Biden accepted an invitation to Israel, Bennett’s national security advisor flew to Washington for talks with his counterpart.
