The haggling over the revival of the dormant JCPOA is over, at least according to the Biden administration. For the last five months, a formula has been on the table at the Vienna talks, and it is time for political decisions in Tehran and Washington. The Khomeini regime may wish to wait a little longer, for the mid-term elections in the United States, to make sure that Joe Biden is strong enough to carry through the deal in Congress and that Donald Trump is not coming back in 2025 to withdraw from the deal once again; but if so, recent developments may appear to work in Biden’s favor. Is this the calculus, as seen in American, Iranian and other eyes?
