Iran’s drones - a real threat to Ukraine or a pretext to gain Israeli support?
Two relatively new weapon systems have captured the public’s imagination since the beginning of this century - armed unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, and the missiles intended to intercept them. Because the drones are playing such a prominent role in the Ukraine war, especially with Russia assisted by Iran in this dimension, Ukraine has asked for Israel’s agreement to supply it with counter-drones systems. Israel is reluctant to do it, for both strategic and technological reasons. Do the Ukrainians really need Israel in this regard, or are they looking for symbolic rather than substantial help?
Joining from central Israel to discuss it is Brigadier General (Res.) Doron Gavish, Former Air Defense Chief, Israel Air Force.
Also joining us from Israel’s north is Brig. Gen. (Ret) Relik Shafir, Former IAF Tel Nof Commande. Amir Oren, TV7 Editor at large, PIP, WT.
