Israel at War. Two months into the Gaza War, launched by the savage Hamas attack on thousands of Israeli civilians, the Middle East is still absorbing all of the related geo-strategic implications, both those shaped by the war and those impacting on it. The very definition of the region’s boundaries and focal points requires an update. As per usual, the main players are the Levant, North Eastern Africa, the Persian Gulf and Turkey. However, the war has now ushered Yemen and the Bab al Mandan choke point onto center stage.
