In the course of the past several months, the Islamist Hamas organization, which rules the Gaza Strip, is seeking to reach a cease-fire agreement with Israel that will allow it to bolster its domestic standing amid severe economic constraints.
In order to realize a long-term cessation of hostilities, the internationally recognized terror group is willing, for the time being, to set aside its aspiration to annihilate the Jewish state. Israel, on its part, is willing to reach an agreement in exchange for Hamas imposing its will on the rogue organization in Gaza, that have from time to time defied the Islamist organization's orders to refrain from breaking the relative quite along the border.
To further discuss those efforts, I'm join here in the studio by; Lt. Col. Res. Reuven Ben Shalom, Cross-cultural strategist and columnist at the Jerusalem Post; and Prof. Zeev Hanin, Expert on Russian and Middle Eastern Studies, Bar Ilan and Ariel Universities. TV7 Analyst: Mr. Amir Oren.
