Europe’s Stance on Israel : the Institution VS Member States

Up until the end of the last decade, Israel attached great importance to the views of European institutions. Europe seemed headed toward some form of a loosely federated continent with a common foreign and security policy.

There was a great deal of alignment between the membership of the EU and NATO, which was relevant to Israel because under the American division of responsibility it fell under the European Command, and because the United Kingdom was still a member of the EU.

With changes having occurred in all of these parameters, Jerusalem now prefers to concentrate on its bi-lateral relations with the nations and governments of Europe. Is this necessary, effective and irreversible? Joining us for the discussion:
