The Yom Kippur war cost the lives of thousands of Israeli soldiers. The war was a major turning point in the nation. Even 40 years after the war, the nation is still recovering from the wound this war left in them.
October 2013 marked the fortieth anniversary of the war. Several gatherings were held all over the country as war veterans came together to reminisce on the difficult times of the past. Also the Paratroop Battalion 890 gathered together in Jerusalem. We joined in on their memorial and talked to veterans about their experiences. Dalia Gavrieli-Nuria, who has studied the Yom Kippur war for almost 20 years, was interviewed about the effects of the war.
